By using Sump & Seal (the “site”), published by MadGrey LLC, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
1. What this site is
An independent publication about sump pumps, backup systems, replacement parts, water alarms and basement waterproofing. The content is general information for homeowners, published in good faith and sourced as described in our editorial policy.
2. What this site is not
It is not professional advice, and it cannot see your house. Specifically, nothing here is:
- Structural engineering advice. Cracks, bowing walls and foundation movement need a licensed engineer who can inspect the building.
- Electrical advice. Circuits, GFCI devices and anything beyond plugging an appliance into an existing receptacle need a licensed electrician.
- Plumbing advice for work requiring a permit or inspection, which varies by jurisdiction and is a licensed trade in most places.
- Legal, insurance or financial advice. Policy wording and local code differ and only your own documents and authorities govern your situation.
Work on your own home is at your own risk. Where a job involves water, electricity, a gas appliance, a structural element or an excavation, hire a qualified professional.
3. Accuracy
We take sourcing seriously and still cannot guarantee that everything here is correct or current. Manufacturers revise specifications, products are discontinued, and codes change. Verify anything that matters against the manufacturer's current documentation and your local requirements before acting on it. If you find an error, tell us via the contact page and we will fix it.
4. Affiliate links
The site contains affiliate links and earns commissions on qualifying purchases, as set out in the affiliate disclosure. Any purchase you make is a transaction between you and the retailer. We are not a party to it, and we have no control over pricing, availability, shipping, returns or warranty service.
5. Third-party links

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MadGrey LLC is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential loss or damage arising from use of this site or reliance on its content, including property damage, business interruption or loss of data. 7. Intellectual property
The text, layout, design and original graphics on this site are owned by MadGrey LLC. You may quote short extracts with clear attribution and a link to the page quoted. You may not republish substantial portions, reproduce the site wholesale, or use the content to train or populate a derivative publication without written permission. Photographs are licensed from third parties and credited on the image credits page; their own licenses govern reuse. Product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only.
8. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to disrupt the site, probe it for vulnerabilities, scrape it at a rate that degrades service for other readers, or submit anything through the contact form that is unlawful or abusive.
