Privacy policy
This policy explains what information Sump & Seal collects when you visit, why, and what you can do about it. Sump & Seal is published by MadGrey LLC.
What we collect
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and how people arrive. It sets cookies and collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and referring site. We use it in aggregate to decide what to write next. We do not attempt to identify individual visitors.
The contact form
If you send a message, we receive the name, email address, optional phone number and message you provide, and we use them solely to reply. We do not add you to a mailing list and we do not sell or share contact details. The form carries basic anti-spam measures: a hidden field that real visitors never fill in, a timing check, and a per-address rate limit.
Affiliate links
Product links route through our own /go/ redirect and then to the retailer. The retailer sets its own cookies to attribute a purchase to this site, and its privacy policy governs everything that happens after you arrive there. We receive aggregate reporting only — commissions and click counts, never your identity or what else you bought. See the affiliate disclosure.
Hosting and logs
The site is served by a hosting provider that keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses and request details, for security and operational purposes.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not run advertising networks or behavioral ad trackers.
- We do not require an account, and there is nothing to log into.
- We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Cookies
The cookies set on this site come from Google Analytics and, after you click an affiliate link, from the destination retailer. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics entirely using Google's browser opt-out add-on. Nothing on this site stops working if you do.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to its processing. In practice the only personal information we hold is what you sent us in a message. Email contact@sumpandseal.com and we will act on the request.
Retention
Contact messages are kept while the conversation is useful and then deleted. Analytics data is retained according to the standard retention period configured in Google Analytics. Server logs are retained by the hosting provider under its own schedule.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes will be described rather than quietly substituted.
